A contribution is the life's blood of non-profit organizations. A donation may take various forms, including cash, services, items pertinent to the Matthews Museum of Maine Heritage, emergency or humanitarian aid items. The Museum has been bleshed with many contributors, local and from all over the world, indiciduals, families and businesses. A great number of people donated or left to our custody artifacts that make us proud to display. Others donate their time and efforts to assist in the several events the Museum participates. We are grateful!
The Museum thrives to be one of the best in the country. We constantly try to improve our exhibits, displays and facilities. Last year, the one-horse shay, one of the two in existance, was taken to be restored. We broke ground for the Moxie Annex, on the west side of the complex. Our Kitchen exhibit was recently renovated. This website was rebuilt from scratch, and these are only a few of the changes to the Matthews Museum of Maine Heritage.
There is much more to be done! The Carriage house needs a new roof. The shay needs a place of prominence. The Moxie Annex needs to be completed. The Hodge School needs repairs and TLC. We need your help.
Please join the Museum in any of these capacities. Any donation in any amount is welcome and badly needed. Any artifacts you are able to donate or lend to the Museum will be greatly appreciated.
Our goal for 2009 is to expand our activities with educational and recreational
programs. We can use your expertise in any subject. We welcome your
ideas and suggestions. Send us an e-mail,
