July 17th through July 19th, 2009

The Matthews Museum of Maine Heritage will celebrate Union's Founders Day with two main special events.

In the morning on the Common, after the parade, Gay Boggert will demonstrate how folks made ice cream in the old days. We are sure that kids of all ages will enjoy it, particularly if the day is hot!

In the afternoon at the Museum, Vic Hotho will demonstrate how some of the tools on display at the museum were used. Vic gave a wonderful presentations for the Union Historical Society bringing tools from his own collection.

People will have the opportunity to walk through and see the exhibits, particularly the Moxie bottle in our new annex and the famous one-horse shay, recently returned from maintenance. This shay was made in Union and it is the only one available to the public.
